The Old Bakehouse Market

The Old Bakehouse Market is a shop in Warkworth run by Caretaker Farm and our company Sharp Services Ltd. Queen Street, Warkworth. Phone: 09 425 7780 sharpservices@xtra.co.nz

It is located down an ally way between the Kowhai Dairy and Madrose Cafe on Queen Street. The ally way walls are decorated with a middle-eastern mural and two spiral eyes pointing the way to the shop.

Open hours are:

Tuesday to Saturday 10am - 3pm

The shop sells surplus produce from the farm and second-hand books, clothes, bric & brac, jewellery, pictures, crafts and many surprises if you have the time to look.

Several people sell things through the shop and pay commission or work in the shop so it operates as a market.

Visitors at Caretaker Farm are welcome to help in the shop in exchange for accommodation at the farm and it is a great way to meet people and practice English.

Audrey was involved as a founder member of the Matakana Craft Cooperative which started its life in the Old Dairy Factory building in Matakana owned by John Fenton.
